How Much Water should we Drink a Day

I know i am like no one else, i have been told this many a times, and i am yet to find someone who doesn’t like drinking. I hate it with a passion and this is one of my biggest problems when coming to dieting, I can stick to the menu however boring or nasty it is, i can stick to an exercise programme, however easy or hard, but can i drink the recommended amount NO!

So i have research long and hard to find out what constitutes as the recommented amount of water you should drink, and does it have to be water or can it be any liquid form, such as juice, fizzy drinks, tea, coffee etc.

The answer appears to be 2.5 litres and that it should be staggered through out the day (oops not only do i drink less than half of that but i also drink it in one go) and that i can count squash and coffee as part of the recommended dose. That brings my total to two glasses.

Upon reading this i decided to research further and find out why we need to drink so much, no i am not stupid i know the body is made up 60 to 70% water, and that it must be kept at this level to maintain a health body. However my body runs on two glasses a day and ok i sometimes feel sluggish but i am interested to find out why we need so much.

Researching found that if you drink enough your energy level will be more consistent, which means you can say goodbye to those afternoon Knapp’s, and it also helps with concentration because the brain needs water to work at its optimum, to eliminating waste. Water also helps keep your skin clean, because the roots of your hair becomes hydrated, which also means your hair becomes bouncier. On top of all this it can also help people with bowel problems such as constipation and IBS, as it regulates movement through staggering your drinks, which will also help the kidneys, because if you down  a litre or more you will find not only will it put strain on the kidneys but you will also find yourself dashing to the loo.

So putting all this together, i need to get myself a drinks counter and start drinking.
