Gillian McKeith Inspiring More People to Lose Weight
![]()
Is there no stopping this woman? I hope not.
I first heard about Gillian McKeith when Channel 4 aired a programme called, You Are What You Eat, a programme that had me glued to my seat every week. I found this programme truly inspiring, not only for the support Gillian gave, but her ability to change someones eating habits for a better lifestyle, even though nearly all the people participating, turned there nose up at the food she provided on the first day. To me it was truly remarkable, so much so that i went out and bought her book, and joined her website, of which i still use to this day, the one thing the website does offer against all others is that every now and again Gillian will appear on the chatroom to give advise which i think is a great quality it just shows how dedicated she actually is. If i had the guts to go on her programme i would have, because her knowledge of nutrition is brilliant, but also her sharp but warm approach to kick people up the backside is something i need in a dietician.
I loved the work she also did with Michelle McManus, how she turned her around i will never know. The work she does is inspiring to so many people, i think it is because she shows that she genuinely has a love for helping people who are overweight, and also strives to get the best out of people, and makes people understand how important your health is to you, by doing all the test she does.
Gillian is now fronting a new show that i have also posted about called Supersize Vs Superskinny, which i can’t wait to see. When i first wrote the post it was based on an article i had read which did not mention she was on it, but when i found Gillian was presenting, it made me set my sky plus, in case i missed it due to work.
In the past 5 years i have struggled terribly with my weight, as it is an emotional blanket, but i work at my weight best when i am watching her programmes. Ok i started my journey before i knew this programme was on but seeing others do it and with her help really moves me on. So i am looking forward to watching Gillian in action again.

where can I get one of those horse trainer things in the show supersize v superskinny and what is its proper name
Hi Lynne, I believe the horse trainer is either called an IJoy Ride Exercisers or a horseback riding trainer, they can vary in price from £199 basic to the top of the range which was on the show at £400, if you google both names there are a few companies who sell them. I am not sure if Gillian is selling them on her website though.
Hope this helps
Where can one purchase the electric surfboards and approximately how much do they cost? They look super and could be most useful when trying to burn excess fat!
Hi,
As weight loss is often an emotional issue for many people, has anyone here tried out cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)? A friend of a friend tried it and swears by it apparantly. I’m just thinking that if weight loss is largely an emotional issue perhaps we need to work on our thoughts first/too.
It seems too many of us are looking to buy stuff which we think/hope will work.
When is this show aired on the West coast USA?
I couldn’t understand some parts of this article McKeith Inspiring More People to Lose Weight, but I guess I just need to check some more resources regarding this, because it sounds interesting.
