Fat Man’s Warning with Steve Daly
Channel 4 brought us the story of Renee Williams the half a ton woman, now they are bring us Steve Daly a thirty stone comedian from Las Vegas, aged 46 and morbidly obese.
As Britain has now officially been named the fattest nation in Europe with two-thirds of adults being overweight and 22% of adults being clinically obese, and only four years away from being as fat as America who have 30% of Adults being Obese. Steve has come over to Britain for two weeks against doctors advise as he has suffered two heart failure due to his weight and before going on a radical weight loss programme he wants to warn the British public by using his body as a weapon that we need to watch our weight.
Steve’s mission is to target, School Kids, Teenagers, and Commuters, by using his body to shock them.
Sounds very interesting and appears on Channel 4 Thurs 24th January 2008, as part of Channels 4 Big Issues season.
Wow i have just finished watching the show (thank god for 4OD or i would never have seen it). I found this show totally amazing, god bless steve daly what a star, coming from Sheffield i know a lot about the sports science as i studied it went i was younger, and i have to say that must have been so tough for Steve, the tests are not easy and i can imagine it being totally humilating even though the people who work there are lovely, it does show the cold hard facts about your body and shape. I have to say the English did surprise me the most, there reaction was totally not what i expected, over half laughing and think it a joke one man say “it’s that padding your wearing” i mean come on!!! It was nice to see the kids protecting him and at least it showed the younger generation understanding what could be around the corner. I would love to follow his story and hope channel 4 do a catch up show with him andi would love to hear from others who watched the show or anyone who has heard how Steve Daly is doing now.
