Hi!

It's all over...!!! We've really enjoyed the WHOLE series.

Interesting that they are scouting for a new series, which implies that for Endemol it was a success.

It seems that overall the biggest changes have been with the (so-called) "supersize" contributors? Perhaps this is down to the differences in body type, and, the time it takes to lose weight vs gain weight. Judging by the family trend, Tat "might" be a size 12 when she's about 50!!

I still find some of the comments on the internet amusing... One "sad" person on You Tube claims that Tat is dying (!!). Well, aside from the obvious that... we're all dying... it just shows how many people believe everything that's presented to them.

For our part, it's been fun. Tat never felt pressurised into doing anything she didn't want to. Unfortunately, the editing didn't show the many sections we would have liked to see: her wearing the fat suit, teaching her students Jujitsu, the many interviews with her friends etc., but that was the producer's choice, and "they know best".

Perhaps there will be a grand get-together!?

Congratulations to all concerned, and I hope that the issues that have arisen will be dealt with satisfactorily.

One Response to Polly “Fatigue can be unbearable”

yasmin smith on Mar 12th, 2008 at 4:27 pm

hey Polly just read your post and totally understand where you are coming from, I feel like this most days and as you said if i eat something i shouldn’t it is a thousand times worse. I too am coming to the realisation that PCOS is far bigger than i realised and will take a great deal of personal determination to live in harmony with (as their is no cure this is the realisation). Thanks to you and your website I now have far more knowledge to help me deal with PCOS and I am eternally greatfull for you joining the dots for me FINALLY.. it’s funny and very apt that it was a fellow sufferer that helped me with my mystery illness and with a final diagnosis.. without you I would still be scratching my head wondering why all the time… it all makes sense now and i will explain the outcome of my recent hospital visits later.. i promise (it will take a while so will have to wait for now).. but in brief The Reason I bloat up and react etc to certain foods such as wheat.. was and is due to my PCOS.. this link was never made by any of the specialists..it was not until you said about your condition did the penny drop and i started my own investigations..then armed with all the info went back to the specialist where infact i was told that i was correct and the two things (PCOS and my digestion issues) were infact directly linked and I am not going mad and IT IS NOT IN MY HEAD!!! so as i said already i owe you so much as this could and probably would have continued as a mystery for years without your personal insight and direction.

I hope you keep well and remember you are not alone in this :-)

I will be in touch soon.
Many Thanks

Exploitation indeed, Helen. I felt they should have given us a food budget seeing we (the 'skinny' ones) were eating more for the purposes of gaining weight FOR the show. The fee was all inclusive.
It's amazing how many people fell for the trickery... even people who know me took some convincing... so they know exactly what they are doing.

I don't know what to say to you Laura, but I do know that if you feel pressured to be a certain way and you are not assertive enough to stand up and be yourself you will succumb to the pressures. I'm no expert (I'm not a fan of experts) but I really think going back to basics to where you were before you found yourself where you are is a good place to start. Then decide what is truly right for you and work at developing the strength and the will to stick to your guns in working towards your goal. Also it helps to surround yourself with positive people who will support and encourage you towards your goal. Good people won't pressure you into embracing their opinions. People kept telling me how good I looked for gaining weight, but it wasn't about what people think, it is entirely about what is right and healthy for me. I'm only speaking from personal experience, but I hope it helps.

Your post saddens me Laura that you feel you need to be someone you are not as in wanting a figure like Denise Van Outen. I bet you look absolutely fine as you are. Reading your post tells me you have a lot of issues regarding food and the way you look so I hope some of the people on here will help you in some way through their own experiences.

This show is very good i think people need help both ways, i.e. if they are big or small and sometimes it is hard to get that help. I know i have suffered with an eating disorder for a while and have routines that are hard to break now. I have also got OCD which makes me arrange food in cupboards or buy food for everyone else. I have been very low in weight 6 stone 13 for my 5 foot 7 frame but am now 7 stone 7 but still go to the gym everyday and still have routines and still limit food through out the week and binge on certain days. Doctors have been up and they think that because i hold down a part time job and go to the gym i don't need admitting but need once a week out patient treatment which is impossible to attend due to eating patterns gym etc. The days i binge i am heavier until i eat really small again next few days to get back down again. I feel like i will never get my life back on track again i will never meet a nice guy or have children. I have not had periods for 5years maybe more. I would like to know how to eat but still be able to have days where i could eat what i want but stay a nice shape not big or very curvy either. I would like to have someone take pictures of my body the way they do on this program maybe that will shock me. I'd like them when i starve myself for four days and then after i have had my binge days too to see how my body changes. I feel fat always and have a constant pop belly that i am paranoid about and sometimes my face is very puffy and fat too. I think the show is good recommending healthy eating plans but hopefully they also have days where the person can eat takeaways or chocolate. Because in normal life that how people eat and in certain situations friends will want to eat like that with you. But if you have a plan that allows you to eat like that some days and still stay a nice size that would be good. I'd like to have a figure like Denise Van Outen.

The name Endemol and Exploitation keeps popping up doesn't it!!

Getting back to Last night's Supersize. It's been mentioned on here about the lighting they use, it makes the skin look like it has a nasty desease and when it comes to the reveal the skin is all glowing.
Anyway I enjoyed the show last night, fast forwarding the useless bits of course, but the participents looked pleased with the outcome, at least I hope they did!!

Last night I watched a recording of the Johnathan Ross show and forced myself to sit and watch the dreadful G Mckeith. What a horrible woman she is and why is this person always on our TV screens when if you read the comments on various message boards, she is clearly a much hated figure.
The only thing I thought hilarious was when she said her children ordered out pizza's without her knowledge whilst on holiday, she went ballistic. Are you ever in for a nasty surprise McKeith when your children are old enough to think for themselves and the freedon they will have to eat what the hell they like!!
OK rant over, back to work!!
